Here’s my theory: the Inkling language is Japanese.

No, not the spoken language. That one’s just weird.

I mean the written language, which is what this blog is about! As for the spoken language, wellll… Let’s just say that it may have to do with Cap’n Cuttlefish.

My theory is that the (written) Inkling language is Japanese, but in romaji, so that foreign words would be written the way they are written in their native language, rather than in katakana (for example, “Gear” vs. “Gia” (ギア)).

Speaking of which, the (not yet fully decoded) round alphabet, when applied to the square, gives us a hint about (possible) upcoming DLC! Engeki Street. ^{(Pause at 1m 15s.)} Hmm… will this be theater related?
